Burgers
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 sweet red pepper, cored, seeded, & minced
½ cup chopped scallions (green onions, white & green parts)
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
Red Pepper flakes, to taste
Salt, to taste
6 hamburger buns, to toast on VCS grill
Sliced tomatoes
Sour Cream



1. Prepare VCS grill for high heat searing 450 degrees F.

2. Combine the beef, sweet red pepper, scallions, and garlic in large mixing bowl.

3. Add the cumin, oregano, thyme, paprika, & red pepper flakes. Salt to taste and mix until blended. Shape the meat into 6 patties ¾ inch thick.

4. Grill burgers on lowest cooking surface for approximately 5 minutes each side for medium. Use a meat thermometer to check for internal temperature of 160 degrees F

5. Toast buns on top grill surface to light golden brown, watch carefully so they don’t burn.

6. Serve with tomato slices, sour cream, or your favorite toppings
